General Information

understanding the document

It is crucial to thoroughly understand the contents of any document you intend to sign and have authenticated by a Commissioner for Oaths.

The Commissioner for Oaths will guide you through verifying the accuracy of all provided information before you sign the document in their presence.

Prior to your appointment, consider seeking legal advice or other counsel if necessary. Typically, the Commissioner for Oaths focuses on confirming your identity, name, address, and signature. However, it is your responsibility to assess the contents of the documents, understand their implications, and determine whether signing them is advisable.

prior to your appointment

Prior to your appointment with the Commissioner, ensure that all fields in the documents are accurately completed. It is crucial to avoid arriving at the Commissioner’s office and then beginning to fill out a lengthy form. Doing so not only wastes the Commissioner’s time but also adds unnecessary stress for you and raises the risk of making errors under pressure.
